Prologue

As this is the start of my writing journal, naturally, I have to do the mandatory introduction post.

My name is Emily and that is where we shall begin.

I am a writer - or, at least - I want to be. Since I was young, books were always my safe haven; and the older I got, the more writing became such an obvious career choice. There were a few rocky years where I almost gave it up completely, no books, no words - but those years are a blur in my memories. I enrolled into a creative writing course at university and it reignited my love of storytelling; and lately, I am usually found on my laptop making up for those lost years, or in a cosy little corner with a new book in hand.

I write mostly prose, and you would probably find it boring when I say that fiction is my preferred genre. But I am also a lover of poetry, which is harder to explain and easier to read.

This blog is my playground, so to speak. A place to write, a place to talk, a place where all my thoughts can be written down and memorised. So I don't know how often I will be here, but I will return when Time calls.
